Berkeley Lab Partnership Offers Computing Science Research Opportunities to Faculty, Students from Diverse Backgrounds

Faculty are invited to apply for the opportunity to attend a networking event with computing sciences staff at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, or Sandia National Laboratories, where scientists develop solutions to pressing scientific and engineering problems while making use of some of the fastest supercomputers, tools, methods, and high performance computing resources. The application deadline for the Sustainable Pathways Research Fellows event is Monday, Oct. 21.
Selected faculty will be invited to the networking event, held at Berkeley Lab on December 7-8, to explore possible collaborations of the faculty and their students with Lab research projects. Computing Sciences staff will discuss their research projects and interests. Invited faculty will present their work during a poster blitz and poster session. Ample time will be provided for further discussions to explore potential research collaborations and sponsored programs.
This event, developed under a partnership between Sustainable Horizons Institute and three Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories, is designed for faculty from a variety of institution supporting students from under-represented or under-privileged backgrounds, such as minority serving institutions (MSI) and women’s and community colleges. Faculty will learn about opportunities for themselves and their students to engage in collaborative, leading-edge research with computing scientists at participating DOE National Labs. About Computing Sciences at Berkeley Lab
