• All scientific, technical and professional staff and postdocs in the Computing Sciences Area are eligible.
• Mentors will be drawn primarily from CSA but also from other Areas with whom we have partnered. Mentors and mentees have the option when they sign up to state whether they prefer a mentor from within CSA or external to CSA.

Potential mentors, please complete the MENTOR FORM.

Potential mentees/proteges please complete the PROTEGE FORM.

Note: the final day to sign up for the 2024 program is January 12, 2024.

• Mentors and mentees apply to participate by filling out the Mentor and Protege sign-up forms.
• The CSA Mentoring program matching committee will match mentors and proteges/mentees, guided by input from the sign-up form.
  • Matches will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone outside the committee unless both parties agree to do so and self-disclose.
  • Mentees will not be matched with their supervisor or work lead.
  • Job class and seniority will not play a role in matching unless these factors are explicitly identified as important in the sign-up form.
• Mentors and proteges/mentees meet one-on-one for the duration of the program.

The formal duration of the first cycle of this program is February-November, though relationships are encouraged to continue further if mutually beneficial.

Mentees will not be matched with their supervisor or work lead, and HR do not have knowledge of matches. Mentors and mentees may disclose their participation in the program generally, without revealing their partner’s name. If mutually agreed, the mentor and mentee can choose to disclose their relationship to a third party.

December 4, 2023: Sign-ups open for the 2024 mentoring program

January 12, 2024: Last day to sign up for the 2024 mentoring program

Early February, 2024: Pairing notifications sent to mentors and proteges; invitations to mentor/protege training sessions sent

Late February, 2024: Formal program begins

November, 2024: Formal program ends*; End-of-program survey
