Since 2022, CSIT has upgraded many conference rooms in Shyh Wang Hall (Building 59) with Neat video conferencing devices. Neat devices provide high-quality video and advanced camera features that support hybrid meetings.

The Neat camera dramatically improves the experience for remote participants by using Auto-Framing and Multi-Focus to zoom in on and track the face of each person in the room, and Multi-Stream to optimize Zoom windows. Neat’s intelligent microphone arrays optimize speech and minimize background noise.

Most rooms have Neat Bars, which connect to an existing television. Conference room 3054 has a Neat Board, an all-in-one appliance with a touchscreen that’s great for Zoom whiteboarding:

Neat devices are controlled with a tablet, integrated with Google Calendar, and run easy-to-use Zoom Room software, which is now standard around the Lab.
